Terms of use

1. Scope

These terms apply to all use of ikzoekeenkot.be and its related services. By using the platform, you agree to them. Changes are announced on this page; continued use after a change means the new terms apply.

2. The platform as an intermediary

ikzoekeenkot.be connects students and landlords and facilitates communication and viewing appointments. A rental agreement is entered into solely between the student and landlord; ikzoekeenkot.be is not a party to that agreement and does not act as a landlord or estate agent.

3. Accounts

• You provide accurate information and keep your account personal.
• You are responsible for activity from your account.
• Students use the platform to find a home, and landlords to list their own properties.

4. Rules for landlords

• Listings describe only accommodation that you have the right to offer and must be up to date and truthful.
• Prices are listed transparently: rent, fixed costs and deposit separately.
• You comply with the applicable housing and safety standards and the regional regulations for student housing.
• You must not post photos or text that you do not have the rights to use.

5. Rules for everyone

Prohibited activities include misleading or discriminatory content, spam and unsolicited messages, automated data collection or copying (scraping), circumventing moderation or security, and any other unlawful use. Listings may not express a preference based on sex, origin, religion, disability or other protected characteristics unless a legal exception applies.

6. Moderation and availability

Listings are reviewed before publication and may later be paused or removed with a reason given. Accounts that breach these terms may be suspended. The platform is maintained with care, but uninterrupted access isn't guaranteed; maintenance and changes may occur.

7. Liability

The content of listings and messages comes from users; ikzoekeenkot.be carries out limited checks and is not responsible for that content. Our liability is limited to what is required by mandatory law. We are not liable for damage arising from agreements between users.

8. Intellectual property

The brand mark, logo and visual identity are owned by ikzoekeenkot.be. Your photos and text remain yours; you grant us a limited licence to display them within the platform while your listing or account is active.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court, without prejudice to your mandatory rights as a consumer.
